Your journey of spiritual and religious discovery begins in the capital of Georgia — Tbilisi.
Georgia adopted Christianity in the 4th century, making it one of the world’s oldest Christian nations, along with Armenia.
Although around 83% of Georgia’s population is Orthodox Christian, the country is known for its religious diversity and tolerance, where all religious communities are free to practice their faith.
Tbilisi, in particular, stands out for its atmosphere of interfaith harmony. In Old Tbilisi, you will encounter and visit centuries-old Orthodox churches, a Catholic church, a synagogue, and a mosque — all coexisting within a short walking distance. You will also have the chance to visit the impressive Holy Trinity Cathedral, one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world.
After exploring Tbilisi, your journey continues to Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia and a spiritual center of the nation. There, you will visit Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, which holds a sacred relic — the robe of Jesus Christ.
You will also travel to the Gergeti Trinity Monastery, dramatically perched in the Caucasus Mountains, and to the David Gareji Monastery Complex, carved into the desert cliffs near the border with Azerbaijan.
