Samegrelo is located in western Georgia, specifically in the area between the Rioni, Tskhenistskali, Enguri and Black Sea rivers. Samegrelo is distinguished by many natural wonders, such as canyons, rivers and lakes. The largest river is Khobistskali, which is 150 km long. The highest mountain is Chitagvala (3226 m). In the western part of the region is located the country’s most important port of Poti.
